The setting of Lair Obscur is a gloomy fantasy Belle Époque.The main characters, Esquie (Maxence Cazorla), Verso (Ben Starr), Renoir (Andy Serkis), Gustave (Charlie Cox), Maelle (Jennifer English), Lune (Kirsty Rider), Sciel (Shala Nyx), and Monoco (Rich Keeble), try to stop the Paintress, whose godlike abilities can kill everyone of a certain age she draws in the sky.
A French company called Sandfall Interactive makes video games.One of Clair Obscur’s objectives, according to CEO and creative director Guillaume Broche, was to produce a high-fidelity turn-based role-playing game, something he believed AAA game developers had overlooked. Broche claims that Clair Obscur draws inspiration from Japanese role-playing games, citing the Persona and Final Fantasy series in particular.There are roughly thirty members of the development team.In order to benefit from Unreal Engine 5’s enhancements in rendering and animation, development shifted from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5.

CyberConnect2 is the developer and publisher of the upcoming tactical role-playing video game Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3. As the third and last installment of the preceding two Fuga games, which were released in 2021 and 2023, respectively, it is the sixth game in the company’s Little Tail Bronx series. The game will be available for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on May 29, 2025, globally.
The director of the Fuga series, Yoann Gueritot, subtly revealed Fuga 3 in February 2022 as merely a third edition.Gueritot quit CyberConnect2 in March 2023, midway through the construction of Fuga 2; therefore, Hiroto Niizato will be directing the game instead.According to a CyberConnect2 spokesperson interviewed by RPGSite at Anime Expo 2024, Fuga 3 will “be over twice as long as the previous entries with over double the illustrations.”A teaser trailer was released in January 2025 with a May 29 release date.

Nihon Falcom is the developer of the 2022 role-playing video game The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II.
